Faculty members at the Department of English and Languages are encouraged to nominate their current and previous students, but students can also submit their own work directly to the editors at The Texan Writer.

Either way, submissions should be copied and pasted into the form below or, better yet, emailed to dhenderson@tarleton.edu.

About the author

The Texan Writer was launched in the spring of 2026 by four professors in North Texas. By publishing some of the strong writing being produced at their university, specifically in the Department of English and Languages, they hope to encourage and reward their university’s student body. They are currently seeking submissions for upcoming issues, the deadlines for The Texan Writer being March 31st for the spring issue and October 31st for the fall.
